Department Overview
The Civil Department is responsible for the filing of Civil Suits, Probates, and all related matters brought before the court. Our staff ensures proper indexing of all suits, maintains the Docket and Minute Book, records all associated costs, and files all pleadings, documents, and exhibits with endorsement of the filing date and relevant facts.
All fees in this department are established in accordance with La. R.S. 13:841 (as amended by Act No. 243 of the 2006 Regular Legislative Session) and other relevant statutes.

Advance Deposit Requirements
Important Notice
The correct advance deposit must accompany the original petition; otherwise, pleadings will be returned to sender or held without filing pending payment.
- When the advance deposit is depleted, no additional documents will be filed until further deposit or payment is received.
- All outstanding court costs must be paid before a suit can be dismissed.
- Payments accepted: cash, check (payable to Red River Parish Clerk of Court), or money order.
