Department Overview
The Criminal Department is responsible for the filing of all formal charges brought by the 39th Judicial District Attorney's Office in the Parish of Red River, Louisiana. This includes indictments, bills of information, juvenile matters, and all associated pleadings and court records.
Expungements
Legal Guidance Notice
Our office cannot provide legal guidance regarding expungements. Applicants must retain the services of a licensed attorney to assist with the Motion for Expungement documents.
For those seeking an expungement, the following is required:

1A separate motion must be filed for each individual arrest date.

2Obtain a criminal background check from the Louisiana State Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information. Contact: (225) 925-6095 or visit lsp.org

3After judgment, the State of Louisiana, the District Attorney, and the Sheriff automatically receive copies. The applicant must separately arrange service to any other agencies holding records.

Fees are payable to each agency listed below. Amounts set by state statute unless otherwise noted.
